Desktop computers are the most versatile computers you can get. They are easy to customize and upgrade, which also makes them a very affordable option for a computer. They can be suited to any need, whether it’s the casual internet user or serious gamer.

But with all of these amazing upgrades and features, how do you know if you’re getting the right computer for you? How can you be sure that you’re getting the proper amount of memory and other features you need? These are important things to consider before you go shopping for your next desktop computer. Here are a few suggestions before you shop online or head to a computer store.

The first step is to do a needs analysis. Ask yourself what you’re actually going to be using the desktop PC for. It is very easy to be tempted to get a top of the line model, even when it’s more than you really need. But it is just as easy to get a computer that can’t handle what you really want to be able to do. Take a good hard look at what you want to be able to do and then get a computer that will fit those needs.

Next, be sure to consider the warranty and tech support offered with the desktop PC. Many problems that a computer experiences will happen in its first year, so make sure they offer a one-year warranty. Extended warranties may be a good idea for top end computers that you depend on for daily activities, but understand that it will probably add a couple hundred dollars to the price tag.

A third thing to check on is extra software that comes with your new desktop. Most computers that come out of stores have additional and unnecessary software installed on them. You may not have much of a choice in this area, but it is good to at least be aware of it. In the end only get what you need.

And finally, you’ll want to get more than just your minimum needs. This will make is so your desktop will last a little longer. New technologies are coming out all of the time, so getting a little more than you need will help you to run into few problems with newer software you may want to install down the road.

The Lexmark Optra T610 is a printer from a number of years ago that provided an excellent balance between power and ease of use. While, currently, most printers are suitable for either office or home use, the user-friendly and versatile Lexmark Optra T610 was built to accommodate both. This is a rarity these days, which is why the Lexmark Optra T610 paired with the Lexmark Optra t610 toner is such a gem. If you’re lucky enough to find one online or for sale second hand, it is a terrific investment.

Speaking of ease of use, the Lexmark Optra T610 was simple to install (in about five minutes, on average, including installing the software and the toner cartridge) and functional in design. Its square shape made it easy to fit in even the tightest areas, and it was also compact enough to carry around to different locations. The toner cartridge was so noted for its ease of installation that it became one of the hallmarks that drew people back to the printer over and over again.

As for power, the Lexmark Optra T610 featured a paper tray with capacity for 350 sheets. The printer could also accept three more paper trays, upping the paper capacity to as much as 2,000 sheets. For use at home or at the office, the Lexmark Optra T610 could adapt to any setting without being too complicated or high tech. This also meant it worked well for those whose printers served dual purpose, for home use and home-office use.

The Lexmark Optra T610 printed an average of 12 pages per minute, with the capability to print up to 15 pages per minute. There were minimal printing delays and the simple front-opening design made paper jams easy to fix.

The print resolution was a crisp 1200 by 1200 dpi, and printed well on a variety of paper or card stock, including transparencies and envelopes.

Is the model still useable, or is it obsolete? That depends upon your operating system. The T610 supports Windows 95/98, Windows NT, Macintosh, and UnX, oS/2. Be aware, though, that support for this model might fade away as we enter Windows 7 era. If you are still using one of the mentioned systems, however, this printer will answer your needs.

The power behind the Lexmark Optra T610 happened to be in its Lexmark Optra t610 toner. It used a standard toner cartridge which, on average, produced about 10,000 pages with a life cycle of about 65,000 pages per month.

Graphics file formats are formats for storing computer graphics. Among the many formats, there are two basic types: vector and raster graphics. If you work with computers, you’ll need to understand the strengths of each. Understanding their differences will help you to decide which is best for a particular application.

Raster Graphics store pictures as a collection of colored or greyscale pixels. These formats include GIF, JPEG, PNG, and BMP. A good example of these types of files are photos from digital cameras. The camera stores an image by looking at the color of light from different directions and storing that in a file.

Raster formats are common and easy to display. Most graphics on the web are raster graphics (with GIF being the most popular). There are many software programs for editing and creating raster graphics. Adobe Photoshop is one of the most common and powerful.

The main drawback of raster graphics is that they do not scale well. If you take a photograph and blow it up, for example, the result will be grainy.

Vector graphics are stored as instructions for drawing a particular picture. Some of the most common vector formats are PDF, PS, and SVG. Vector formats are often used for illustrations in books, magazines, and articles. The most common vector format is PDF, which is often used for page layout. If you grab a random book from the bookstore, chances are it was typeset from a PDF file.

Vector graphics scale well since they’re just collections of shapes and lines. That means you can take a vector graphics file and make it as big or small as you want. This flexibility makes vector graphics ideal for applications like making different sized computer icons.
